We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Senior Design Engineer (Electrical) for one of our clients, a well-established and reputable leader in the industrial and engineering services sector. This person will specialize in the customized electrical design of diesel generator sets, synchronization systems, switchgear, and advanced control systems. You will be responsible for the full design lifecycle— from initial conceptualization and BOM creation to factory production support and site troubleshooting—ensuring seamless integration with industry equipment such as BMS and power protection systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Engineering: Develop comprehensive electrical drawings, accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), and technical documentation required for high-quality factory fabrication.
  • Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to international ISO standards and specific regional regulatory requirements.
  • Production & Manufacturing Support: Collaborate closely with the manufacturing team to oversee electrical installations, ensuring a smooth production flow and resolving design issues on the factory floor.
  • Supply Chain Integration: Work with procurement to identify, engage, and qualify high-performance suppliers and components.
  • Sales & Tender Support: Partner with Industrial Solutions and Sales teams to interpret complex design requirements and provide technical expertise for timely tender submissions.
  • System Programming & Testing: Design and program various controllers, PLCs, and HMIs. Lead testing and validation phases, including parameter optimization for governors, AVRs, and PLCs.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert troubleshooting assistance both remotely and on-site to resolve critical system issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Spearhead engineering projects aimed at cost reduction, workflow efficiency, and the implementation of process change management methodologies.
  • Mentorship: Lead and develop junior engineers by providing training and ensuring adherence to standardized engineering best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Educational Background: A Degree in Electrical Engineering with 7–8 years of relevant experience, or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 10–12 years of deep industry experience.
  • Technical Software: Advanced proficiency in SEE Electrical is mandatory.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of diesel generator controllers, alternator concepts, switchgear, and transformers is essential.
  • PLC & Automation: Strong background in PLC electrical design, HMI programming, and system integration.
  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to manage process changes and a track record of mentoring technical teams.
  • Advantageous Skills: Specific subject matter expertise in niche electrical power fields or advanced automation will be highly regarded.
