About the job Tax Compliance Manager
We are looking for a Tax Compliance Manager for a global shipping client. This role is within the Financial Control team in Singapore and will lead and manage all tax compliance function of the company and its entities. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of relevant working experience in both Big four firm and shipping industry preferably. Someone who has strong tax legislations knowledge and experience of managing tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory is advantageous.
Job Description
- Ensure compliance with corporate tax obligations across various jurisdictions, including Singapore, UK, India and other relevant regions
- Oversee tax compliance reporting obligations (eg. GST/VAT, freight tax, etc) and adhere to international tax regulations such as Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) and transfer pricing requirements for the Group
- Review and work closely with internal teams and external advisors to:
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation and policies in compliance with OECD guidelines
- Prepare and review BEPS workbook for tax computation, Country by country reporting and GloBE Information Return
- Provide strategic tax advice in collaboration with tax advisor to support business units and functions within the Group to meet strategic and operational tax objectives.
- Lead and handle tax queries by relevant authority (where applicable).
- Monitor changes in tax legislative development and analyse potential impact to Groups operations to ensure compliance with new requirements.
- Engage with Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and other relevant tax authorities/relevant government agencies as needed.
- Lead ad-hoc tax and related projects as required (e.g. M&A transactions and other strategic initiatives.
Qualifications / Experiences
- Degree in tax or accounting with professional qualification (e.g. accredited tax professionals)
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in both Big 4 firm and large MNCs (preferably shipping).
- Strong tax technical knowledge of Singapore tax legislations.
- Knowledge of international tax laws, freight taxes, transfer pricing and BEPS regulations
- Experience in engagement with IRAS and relevant government authorities/agencies
- Experience of managing tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory
- Hands on experiences of accounting systems is a strong plus
- Teamwork mentality, positive mindset and problem-solving attitude, with high standard of integrity and work ethics
- Good communication skill
