We are looking for a Tax Compliance Manager for a global shipping client. This role is within the Financial Control team in Singapore and will lead and manage all tax compliance function of the company and its entities. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of relevant working experience in both Big four firm and shipping industry preferably. Someone who has strong tax legislations knowledge and experience of managing tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory is advantageous.

Job Description

  • Lead and oversee teams in ensuring compliance with local tax reporting requirements, including corporate tax, GST, transfer pricing, and other relevant tax obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to:
    • Maintain transfer pricing documentation and policies in alignment with OECD guidelines.
    • Prepare and review the BEPS workbook for tax computations, Country-by-Country Reporting, and the GloBE Information Return.
  • Work closely with international counterparts, when necessary, to identify and resolve tax-related issues with the support of tax advisors.
  • Liaise with tax agents to provide support to business units and functions across the Group in achieving strategic and operational tax objectives.
  • Lead the response to tax inquiries from relevant authorities, as applicable.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and analyze their potential impact on the Groups operations, ensuring compliance with updated requirements.
  • Engage with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and other relevant tax authorities or government agencies, as required.

Qualifications / Experiences

  • Degree in tax or accounting with professional qualification (e.g. accredited tax professionals)
  • At least 7 years of relevant working experience in both Big 4 firm and large MNCs (preferably shipping).
  • Strong tax technical knowledge of Singapore tax legislations.
  • Knowledge of international tax laws, freight taxes, transfer pricing and BEPS regulations
  • Experience in engagement with IRAS and relevant government authorities/agencies
  • Experience of managing tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory
  • Hands on experiences of accounting systems is a strong plus
  • Teamwork mentality, positive mindset and problem-solving attitude, with high standard of integrity and work ethics
  • Good communication skill
