RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintain vessels to the requirement of Classification Society, Flag state, Port State, Oil majors and state regulations that the vessels are plying.
- Monitor and control the ships technical maintenance and certification of assigned vessels;
- Ensure to monitor and keep within the Vessel expenses budget allocated
- Check the status of the PMS system in relation to expired planned maintenance and scheduling of works on monthly basis.
- Report to the Senior Superintendent and Technical Manager any contingency or vessel structural /machinery failure which comes to his knowledge and may lead into hazardous or risk situation for the crew, the vessel and its cargo;
- Planning /reporting in cooperation with vessel crew corrective repairs of revealed deficiencies, failures and non-conformities raised from vessel inspection;
- Examining bunker/lube oil analysis, and highlight to the vessel non conformities and recommendations in consultation with Senior Superintendent;
- Reviewing with tech manager the vessel class status at each new entry, check survey reports entries /data, notify class of any wrong reported information;
- Preliminary reviewing the intended DD machinery spec related to inside /outside ER machinery in consultation with senior supt.; to arrange/report full DD spec and preliminary tender comparison.
- Supervising and reporting dry-docking works /substantial repairs, verify compliance with approved specification, check works reliability, review measurements /readings records, jobs report, review and concur pro-forma invoice.
REQUIREMENTS AND WORK EXPERIENCES
- 3 (three) years documented experience as Chief Engineer and 2 (two) years as Technical Superintendent in similar company
- University degree as Technical Engineer or Marine Engineer or Naval Architect
- Tanker experience in senior management level on board for a minimum of 3 years.
