Project Manager (Subsea Cable-Laying)

Are you ready to move from the contractor side to the clients table where your offshore expertise drives decisions, shapes strategy, and safeguards successful project outcomes? We are looking for an experienced Project Manager (Subsea Cable-Laying) to represent the clients interests in managing major offshore cable installation projects across Taiwan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

This is a strategic client-side role with a leading Taiwanese engineering company active in the offshore renewables and subsea infrastructure space. The successful candidate will oversee multiple main and sub-contractors, ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of large-scale offshore power cable projects.

As Project Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle from engineering and tendering to vessel mobilisation, offshore execution, and close-out. Youll be based in Taiwan, the regional hub for the offshore renewables supply chain, and work closely with international partners, contractors, and clients to deliver safe, efficient, and on-schedule results.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the clients project ownership team, ensuring contractors deliver to agreed scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
• Manage project interfaces across engineering, HSE, QA/QC, logistics, and offshore execution.
• Review and validate project plans, risk assessments, and progress reports submitted by contractors.
• Lead project meetings, manage technical documentation, and ensure regulatory and stakeholder compliance.
• Provide expert input on marine operations, installation methodology, and contractor performance.

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years experience in offshore / subsea cable installation, ideally gained with a Tier-1 EPC or installation contractor.
• Hands-on knowledge of marine operations, vessel mobilisation, and subsea project execution.
• Now seeking to transition into a client-representative role focusing on project leadership, risk management, and strategic oversight rather than daily vessel execution.
• Strong communicator able to coordinate cross-functional teams and multi-national partners.
• Degree in Marine, Offshore, Electrical or Civil Engineering. PMP certification a plus.
