We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Operations Manager for a leading international player in the testing and certification industry to lead their laboratory operations, ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across a multi-shift work environment. The ideal candidate would have proven track record in leading and motivating a team of laboratory personnel and possess strong knowledge of the respective standards and hands-on experience in regulatory and accreditation audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Oversee quality control, calibration, and accreditation audits, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
- Manage and coach laboratory teams across multiple shifts, building a culture of collaboration and high performance.
- Drive LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across regions to align lab performance with business objectives.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies for licensing, permits, and renewals.
- Ensure laboratory operations remain within budget and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage vendor qualification and procurement for critical materials and services.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- 8+ years of laboratory management or supervisory experience.
- Strong working knowledge of SAC-SINGLAS and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Hands-on experience in regulatory and accreditation audits.
- Background in fuel testing labs preferred (other chemical or industrial labs may also be considered).
- Proven leadership ability to motivate, align, and develop staff.
- Resilient, with the ability to deliver under tight timelines.
