Field Service Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer for one of our clients, a well-established and reputable leader in the industrial and engineering services sector. This role focuses on installation, commissioning, after sales technical support, troubleshooting and site service to customers. The ideal candidate should be a team player with strong problem-solving skills and task oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out equipment installation, commissioning and on-site customer training in accordance with project requirements and scope.
- Deliver prompt after-sales technical support, troubleshooting and site services to keep customer equipment operational.
- Investigate customer complaints and product failures, coordinating appropriate corrective actions.
- Support service and training activities across a broad range of diesel generator sets, from small to high-capacity units.
- Keep all technical and training materials current, accurate and systematically maintained.
- Conduct targeted service and troubleshooting training for distributors and dealers to promote consistent service standards.
- Build strong working relationships with key customers and follow up closely until technical issues are fully resolved.
- Provide technical support during factory testing for special projects.
- Determine the root causes of equipment failures and recommend effective, practical solutions.
- Review and support the processing of distributor warranty claims, while providing customers with technical guidance on warranty matters.
- Provide standby assistance, including 24/7 emergency support when required by customers.
- Undertake additional service and training responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia regions.
- Strong presentation capabilities, together with effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A dependable team player with sound problem-solving skills and a focused, task-oriented mindset.
- Previous mechanical experience with engines such as MHI, MTU, John Deere or Volvo will be an advantage.
- A strong customer-service mindset and genuine interest in power-generation products
