We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer (French Speaking) to join a dynamic technical support environment in Cape Town. This role is suited to someone with strong support experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support French-speaking and English-speaking users across a broad Microsoft and infrastructure estate.

You will be working in a regulated healthcare environment, where service quality, confidentiality, and a disciplined approach to security and compliance are critical.

The role

This is a hands-on technical support role with real responsibility. You will manage escalated incidents, support users across desktop and infrastructure environments, liaise with internal and external teams, and contribute to the overall stability and quality of the support service.

We are looking for someone who can combine technical capability with professionalism, responsiveness, and sound judgement.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering high-quality 2nd line support across desktop, cloud, infrastructure, and business-critical systems
  • Supporting issues raised by 1st line support
  • Troubleshooting and resolving incidents within defined SLA targets
  • Handling P1 and P2 incidents with focus, urgency, and professionalism
  • Supporting end-user devices and Windows 10 / 11 environments
  • Monitoring alerts and maintaining accurate ticket updates throughout the support lifecycle
  • Working with internal resolver teams and third-party vendors to move incidents through to resolution
  • Creating and updating technical documentation and knowledge articles
  • Identifying patterns and recurring issues to help improve system reliability and reduce repeat incidents
  • Ensuring all work aligns with security, governance, change, and configuration management processes
  • Providing clear and effective support to French-speaking and English-speaking users

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in desktop support, 2nd line support, or a technical support environment
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
  • The ability to support French-speaking users confidently and professionally
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a calm manner under pressure
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain high standards of service
  • A proactive and accountable approach to technical support
  • A team player who is happy to collaborate and contribute across the wider function
  • A strong willingness to keep learning and developing technically

Technical experience required

You should have practical experience in several of the following areas:

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Office 365
  • Active Directory
  • Backup technologies
  • Windows Server
  • VMware
  • Intune
  • HP and Dell environments
  • Thin clients
  • Troubleshooting 3rd party line-of-business applications such as Coins and Agress

Preferred certifications

  • AZ-900
  • MS-900
  • AZ-104 would be advantageous
