Job Description:

A high-growth iGaming and Sports Betting operator is seeking a commercially sharp Sportsbook Product Manager to take ownership of its online sports betting platform in South Africa. The Role

As Sportsbook Product Manager, you will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the sportsbook product — from roadmap strategy and feature development to performance optimisation and regulatory alignment. You will work closely with Trading, Marketing, Compliance, Payments, Technology teams, and third-party suppliers to ensure the platform remains competitive, compliant, and commercially effective in the South African market.

Your Key Job Responsibilities as Sportsbook Product Manager will include:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Develop and own the sportsbook product roadmap aligned to business growth objectives and market opportunities
  • Identify and prioritise enhancements that improve user experience, betting conversion, and customer retention
  • Balance innovation with regulatory requirements and operational readiness

Product Delivery & Enhancements

  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to deliver new features, integrations, and performance improvements
  • Oversee product testing, QA processes, and release management
  • Ensure platform stability, reliability, and high-quality user experience across desktop and mobile

Performance & Optimisation

  • Analyse sportsbook performance metrics, user engagement data, and key KPIs to identify optimisation opportunities
  • Monitor betting trends, player behaviour, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions
  • Prepare regular product performance reports and market insights for senior leadership

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure the sportsbook platform operates fully within South African gaming regulations and licensing requirements
  • Embed responsible gambling standards into product design and promotional mechanics

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with odds providers, aggregators, software vendors, and payment partners
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing to plan and execute product launches and promotional initiatives
  • Coordinate with Compliance, Operations, and Customer Support to maintain cohesive product delivery

Innovation & Market Awareness

  • Stay informed on global sports betting innovations, platform technologies, and emerging trends
  • Identify opportunities to introduce differentiated features that enhance competitive positioning

Requirements for this Sportsbook Product Manager role:

  • Minimum 2+ years experience in product management within the sports betting or iGaming sector in South Africa
  • Proven track record managing product lifecycles and delivering successful feature launches
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical, trading, marketing, and compliance teams
  • Strong understanding of South African sportsbook market dynamics and consumer behaviour
