About the job Entry-Level SR&ED Consultant (Remote)

We're looking for an Entry-Level SR&ED Consultant (Technical / Financial) to join our remote team. In this role, you'll use your analytical, research, and communication skills to help businesses identify and document R&D activities that qualify for tax incentives under the SR&ED program.

You'll help our clients maximize their tax credits by providing accurate and thorough documentation, writing detailed technical reports, and ensuring compliance with CRA guidelines. You'll also receive comprehensive training to build your expertise in SR&ED consulting and progress within our team. You'll:

  • Collaborate with clients to gather and assess information on R&D projects.
  • Draft clear, concise technical narratives that align with SR&ED criteria.
  • Analyze financial data to ensure accurate calculation of eligible expenses.
  • Stay updated on changes to the SR&ED program and CRA policies.
  • Work closely with senior consultants to refine your skills and knowledge.

Within 1 Month You Will:

  • Complete our onboarding program to understand our business, vision, and team, and learn how your role fits into our organization.
  • Conduct 1:1s with your team to deepen your understanding of SR&ED, technical writing, and data analysis.
  • Begin drafting technical narratives under the guidance of senior consultants.
  • Familiarize yourself with our documentation and reporting processes.

Within 3 Months You Will:

  • Become confident in independently drafting and managing SR&ED financial documentation.
  • Work on a variety of projects, applying and refining your technical writing and analytical skills.
  • Collaborate closely with senior consultants and receive feedback to ensure your work aligns with CRA guidelines.
  • Demonstrate consistent improvement and accuracy in your documentation and reporting.

Within 6 Months You Will:

  • Progress to taking on more complex projects, contributing significantly to the preparation of SR&ED claims.
  • Begin to assist in reviewing and mentoring newer team members on technical documentation.
  • Continue to develop your expertise in SR&ED consulting, positioning yourself for advancement within our team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Science, Technology, Business, etc.).
  • Experience: No prior SR&ED experience required. Internships or experience in technical writing, research, or tax consulting are advantageous.
  • Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, particularly in managing and analyzing data.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in SR&ED consulting.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: CAD $30 - $50, depending on experience and qualifications.
