About the job SR&ED Project Support Specialist (Remote)

We're looking for a detail-oriented SR&ED Project Support Specialist to join our remote team on a part-time basis. In this role, youll support our SR&ED consultants by assisting with the preparation and documentation of SR&ED claims, gaining valuable experience that will position you for growth into an SR&ED Consultant role.

You'll help our clients maximize their tax credits by gathering and organizing project information, drafting initial documentation, and supporting the overall claim process. You'll also receive training to develop your skills in SR&ED consulting, technical writing, and data analysis. You'll:

  • Assist in collecting and organizing documentation related to clients' R&D projects.
  • Collect and organize information for technical narratives under the guidance of senior consultants.
  • Use Excel to manage and analyze data related to SR&ED claims.
  • Support the team in ensuring all documentation complies with CRA guidelines.

We are based out of Ottawa, Ontario, with a diverse team working remotely across Canada. Our team values collaboration, learning, and professional growth, and we are committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Within 1 Month You Will:

  • Complete our onboarding program to understand our business, vision, and team, and learn how your role fits into our organization.
  • Conduct 1:1s with team members to learn more about SR&ED, technical writing, and data analysis.
  • Begin assisting with the organization and initial drafting of SR&ED documentation under the guidance of senior consultants.
  • Familiarize yourself with our documentation standards and processes.

Within 3 Months You Will:

  • Become confident in supporting SR&ED documentation independently.
  • Work on a variety of tasks, applying your skills in data management, client communication, and technical writing.
  • Collaborate closely with senior consultants, receiving feedback and guidance to refine your work.
  • Demonstrate consistent improvement in accuracy and efficiency.

Within 6 Months You Will:

  • Take on more responsibility in the preparation of SR&ED claims, contributing significantly to the overall process.
  • Begin to mentor and assist new team members in basic documentation and support tasks.
  • Continue to develop your expertise in SR&ED consulting, preparing yourself for a potential promotion to an SR&ED Consultant role.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science, Engineering, Technology, Business, etc.). Masters degree holders looking for an entry-level role are also welcome.
  • Experience: Experience in administrative roles, technical writing, or data management is an asset.
  • Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to manage and analyze data.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to read and write about new topics (SR&ED).
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in SR&ED consulting.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: CAD $20 - $30, depending on experience and qualifications.
