Schedule: 4 days on / 4 days off, 10-hour shifts

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Red Seal Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) to support the Site Wide Services project at Highland Valley Copper – Mine Life Extension (MLE). This multi-year project will run through 2027 and plays a critical role in supporting mining operations and infrastructure.

In this position, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, alignment, and repair of mechanical systems and industrial equipment. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic industrial mining environment.

The ideal candidate is a certified Red Seal Millwright with strong troubleshooting abilities, experience in warehousing environments, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Who You Are

You are a certified Red Seal Millwright with strong experience in industrial or mining environments. You bring a high level of mechanical aptitude and are confident diagnosing and repairing complex equipment issues while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.

You have hands-on experience working with rotating equipment, conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems, and you are comfortable performing precision alignments, equipment installations, and preventive maintenance. Your ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications allows you to execute work accurately and efficiently.

You are reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. You communicate effectively with supervisors, electricians, and other trades, and you take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving mechanical issues.

You are comfortable working in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions typical of mining operations. You take pride in your work, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and contribute to a safe, productive, and team-oriented workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial mechanical equipment and systems
  • Perform precision alignments, equipment overhauls, and component replacements
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions
  • Support commissioning and start-up of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Coordinate with electricians, operators, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and materials used
  • Adhere to all site safety policies and actively participate in daily safety meetings

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
  • Experience working with rotating equipment, conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience performing equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Previous experience in mining or large-scale industrial projects is considered an asset

Requirements

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certification (required)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, alignment techniques, and maintenance practices
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to site
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certification (required)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment environments
  • Previous experience in warehousing or material handling environments (required)
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Physically capable of working in a mining environment with varying weather conditions
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to site
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Safety Requirements

  • Compliance with all site and company safety standards and procedures
  • Participation in safety meetings, hazard assessments (JHA, FLHA), and site orientations
  • Ability to use required PPE and follow safe work practices at all times
  • Drug and alcohol testing may be required in accordance with company or project requirements
