Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure maximum equipment uptime and safe, efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency mechanical and electrical maintenance on production machinery, utilities, and facilities equipment.

  • Diagnose faults, repair, and replace defective parts promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) according to schedules and record all work completed.

  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete shift reports as required.

  • Work collaboratively with production and operations teams to resolve issues effectively.

  • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Keep spare parts inventory updated and liaise with suppliers when necessary.

  • Participate in training and development to maintain up-to-date skills and certifications.

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g., NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics) and electrical systems (motors, control panels, PLCs).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.

  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

  • Flexible approach to working hours, including shift work and call-outs if required.

  • Strong commitment to health and safety.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with PLCs and automated production lines.

  • 17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (if electrical bias).

  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
