Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Advocate to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients in legal proceedings, drafting legal documents, offering legal counsel, and handling litigation matters across various practice areas. This position requires excellent legal research, advocacy, and interpersonal skills, with a strong understanding of local and national legal procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Litigation & Court Representation

  • Represent clients in civil, criminal, commercial, or corporate litigation before various courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial authorities.

  • Appear and argue cases independently or in coordination with senior advocates or partners.

  • File and respond to legal suits, applications, writs, appeals, notices, etc.

Legal Drafting & Documentation

  • Draft pleadings, petitions, affidavits, contracts, agreements, legal notices, and memorandums.

  • Review legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and client interests.

Client Consultation & Advisory

  • Consult with clients to understand legal problems and provide actionable legal advice.

  • Communicate case status, strategy, and legal risks effectively to clients.

  • Maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Legal Research

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on statutes, case laws, and regulations to support case preparation.

  • Stay updated on new legal developments, judicial decisions, and amendments.

Case Management

  • Maintain records of court dates, case files, and deadlines using case management systems.

  • Coordinate with court clerks, legal assistants, and administrative staff for effective case handling.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university; Masters in Law (LL.M) is an advantage.

  • Registered with the Bar Council and licensed to practice law in [Insert jurisdiction, e.g., India, a particular state, etc.].

  • 25 years of experience in active legal practice or as an in-house legal counsel.

  • Strong command of legal principles, litigation procedures, and statutory compliance.

  • Excellent communication, argumentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient in legal research tools and MS Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized experience in a legal domain (e.g., civil, criminal, family, corporate, IPR, or labor law).

  • Experience in working with legal tech platforms or legal documentation software.

  • Multilingual proficiency depending on jurisdictional needs.
