Role Overview:
Our esteemed not-for-profit client, a well-respected nursery and kindergarten, is seeking a School Director to lead their institution. This position encompasses comprehensive management of the school’s operations, encompassing curriculum refinement, team leadership, financial oversight, and forging strong community relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and uphold the school’s distinct educational approach, merging play-based learning with a blend of student-led exploration and structured academic engagement.
- Steer a dedicated team of educators and support staff, mentorship, performance assessment, and recruitment.
- Curate an enriching curriculum that fosters children’s social, emotional, and intellectual growth, resonating with the school's ethos.
- Manage the school's financial strategy, including budgeting, securing funding through grants and subsidies, and conducting financial analyses to safeguard the school's fiscal well-being.
- Strengthen partnerships with parents, the governing board, and the community, enhancing the school's presence and aligning support with its mission.
- Assure adherence to all regulatory standards, keeping abreast of legislative changes, and supervising inspections.
- Innovate and enhance pedagogical offerings, integrating cutting-edge practices in early childhood education.
- Engage proactively with the school community, utilizing a variety of communication platforms to connect with stakeholders.
- Drive the school's strategic initiatives, evolving to meet the ever-changing educational landscape.
- Promote and facilitate staff development, championing continued professional growth and learning.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field; additional qualifications in Human Resources or Administration are advantageous.
- Registration with a recognized Early Childhood Education body, RECE or equivalent preferred.
- A robust background of at least 5 years in teaching and leadership within a private nursery or school setting.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communicative capabilities.
- Acumen in financial stewardship, with a successful budget management track record. Experience with QuickBooks or similar financial software is desirable.
- Knowledgeable about the Ontario Ministry of Education’s regulatory framework.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, Adobe, and other relevant software applications.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, public relations, and enrollment management.
- A proactive mindset towards innovation and adaptability to refine educational programs.
- Experience in human resources management, including staff oversight and performance evaluations.
- Have and maintain a Criminal Reference Check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Have and maintain Standard First Aid/ AED C.
- A quick learner, highly organized, and adept at creative problem-solving.
Schedule:
- This is a full-time permanent position at our esteemed client’s school, offering flexible timings.
- School hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with before-care starting at 7:30 a.m. and after-care concluding at 6:00 p.m.
- Daily hours may vary based on staffing needs for before- and after-care and any off-site responsibilities.
