For advancing our broad R&D activities in the field of neurodegeneration and other brain diseases, we are now seeking a
Senior Lab Scientist (m/w/d)
driving scientific projects to achieve strategic research objectives. This role will be critical for ensuring scientific rigor and accelerating the translation of research into impactful offering to our pharmaceutical, academic and biotech partners.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement R&D program in a fast-paced environment by executing internal and collaborative research projects as well as commercial projects with accountability for the timely generation of project reports
- Plan, supervise, document, analyze and evaluate experiments using standard and advanced lab techniques including proteomics and protein analysis, in human samples such as nasal secretion, CSF and plasma
- Maintain accurate records of experimental protocols and results, ensuring high standards of data integrity, quality control, and laboratory compliance
- Report and present findings to different stakeholders including management and the scientific community (e.g. at conferences)
- Keep up with the most recent scientific literature on brain disease biomarkers as well as emerging technologies and methods
- Identify, evaluate, develop and establish cutting-edge bioanalytical methods including sample handling, in particular for biomarker discovery and analysis, thereby expanding Noselabs portfolio of validated methods, also towards genomics
- Contribute to scientific publications, presentations, white papers, grant applications and strategic roadmaps
- Provide technical leadership to lab staff as required
Key Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent qualification in Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or related field
- Research experience in biomarker discovery and validation, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- Skilled experimentalist with extensive experience in protein techniques (e.g. ELISA, Simoa, Western blotting), assay development/validation and the use of MS- and non-MS-based proteomics approaches (e.g. NULISA, Olink) including knowledge of bioinformatics tools for proteomics data interpretation and pathway analysis
- Exceptional competency in designing studies and experiments, as well as the interpretation of obtained data, as well as the ability to devise and conduct intricate studies
- Passion for science and curiosity of familiarizing yourself with new topics
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment with excellent oral and written skills in English
- Drive for implementing innovative ideas efficiently and creative problem-solving mindset
- Outstanding organization skills with independent, structured, reliable way of working and ability to adhere to deadlines
Preferred qualifications
- Experience/background in the field of neurodegenerative diseases or other field of neuroscience is a strong plus
- Experience in working in regulated environments (e.g. GCLP) and adhering to standards
- Experience in nucleic acid analysis, genomics and liquid biopsies
