PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To operate plant process and equipment safely according to the required company policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12/standard 10 (NQF Level 4) certificate with maths and science is essential
    • 1-3 years Plant Operator work experience is essential
    • Plant training modules are essential
    • Crushing, Milling and Flotation knowledge is essential
    • Relieving in the plant shift leader position will be advantageous
    • Driving of plant LDV will be advantageous
    • Operating of other plant TMM will be advantageous
    • Must maintain a high standard of work
    • Knowledge of plant equipment operation is essential
    • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    The successful candidate is responsible for:

    • Monitoring and controlling plant process and functioning of equipment and take corrective action as and when required
    • Ensuring the effective and efficient operation of equipment
    • Performing minor mechanical maintenance on metallurgical process equipment
    • Assisting in the moving of heavy equipment using various lifting and rigging techniques
    • Ensuring that daily operational targets are safely met
    • Communicating any deviations in plant processes and equipment
    • Ensuring good house keeping
    • Interact with internal customers
    • Interpreting, recording and reporting processing data obtained from visual inspection as per log sheet requirements and / or checklists
