PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To ensure safety, health of employees (legally responsible as a 2.13.1.) and ensure efficient equipment operation and availability

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12/ STD 10/ NQF level 4 is essential
• B Eng. Diploma /Degree is essential
• Government Certificate of Competency (Mines & Works) is essential
• 2-4 yrs operational experience in a mining environment is essential
• 2-3 years Project Management experience is desirable
• Computer literacy is essential.
• A valid medical Certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

The successful candidate is responsible for:

• Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring adherence to schedules
• Implement best practices for engineering
• Ensuring safety and health of employees
• Ensuring efficient plant/equipment availability
• Ensuring zero harm to employees and the environment by meeting legal and SHEQ regulations and compliances.
• Ensuring equipment maintenance/efficient management i.e. equipment availability to ensure that production targets are met
• Ensuring effective project delivery to enable future growth and reach production targets'
• Implementing effective financial management processes
• Ensuring effective people management methodologies, inclusive of people development (Subordinates vary between 200-400)
• Applying engineering expertise to ensure that effective design checks/specifications are conducted on equipment's (quality and safety key criteria)
