POSITION DESCRIPTION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position, which has arisen within the Technical and Projects Management Department at Mupani Mine. Reporting to the Mupani Mine Project Section Engineer, the successful candidate will supervise EC&I works execution and the contractors' works supervisors, interface with mining operations teams and EPCM engineers to arrange logistics facilitating works progress, plan and expedite project construction works, inspect works execution and report achieved progress daily, and expedite the generation and transmittal of red-lined drawings to the EPCM office.

JOB TITLE - EC&I Supervisor - Fixed Term Contract

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering.

At least three (3) years post-learnership experience in a mining / heavy industrial environment.

Experience in the management and coordination of EC&I works construction / installation projects.

Experience working and managing works in a project environment.

A qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.

A valid Class 4 driver's licence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interfacing with client and EPCM officials to obtain a full set of the IFC drawings required for full project execution.
  • Quantifying and coordinating the mobilisation of all construction materials required for the project.
  • Interfacing with mining operations teams and coordinating the timely transportation of construction materials underground.
  • Supervising works execution by contractor teams and ensuring adherence to all design specifications.
  • Comparing constructed / installed works with designs and facilitating accurate red-lining of drawings for the later production of accurate As-Built drawings.
  • Compiling and reviewing constructability proposals ahead of works execution and proposing mitigation measures to envisaged challenges.
  • Proactively exploring and recommending project cost optimisation measures before and during project execution.
  • Reviewing and reporting works progress to the projects team on a daily basis during the daily project progress review meetings.
  • Checking works quality, instituting corrective actions, and signing off completed areas as the works progress.
