PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage and control the Human Resources function to ensure effective labour management through application of business plans to achieve operational goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 Equivalent is essential
- HR diploma/degree or NQF equivalent is essential
- HR Honours Degree or NQF 8 equivalent is advantageous
- Minimum 4 years in an HR Field is essential
- 4-6 years Shaft/Processing & Services operation experience is essential
KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:
The successful candidate is responsible to:
Expert advice and the implementation of company policy, systems and guidelines within the function
- Constantly reviews developments in the field of HR, Employee Administration, and Labour Planning to ensure
- alignment of systems and procedures to best practices.
- Ensures that systems and procedures are compliant with legislation.
- Advises senior management on the most appropriate courses of action when the function is concerned.
- Provides advice and interpretation to any stakeholder in so far as the function utilization and integration with other HR functions is concerned.
- Regularly conducts function audits to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Drives the recruitment strategy in alignment with the organizational strategic objectives.
- Continually identifies process improvement opportunities in area of responsibility and communicate these
- appropriately.
- Facilitates all key HR functions and programs, including matters related to compensation and benefits, labour negotiations and employee relations
- Continuously reviews existing policies, procedures, standing instructions and practices to identify opportunities for improvement and implement new procedures where necessary.
- Develops and monitors various Business Plan for operational units within the designated area of control.
- Manages and provides effective HR support/services to line management to support BP achievements (From People perspective).
- Effectively supports the overall BP operations by providing HR input as part of operational management team.
- Ensures people availability by implementing effective labour planning and management processes.
- Implements and maintains HR best practices.
- Maintains and improves operational employee relations.
- Ensures that employees and subordinates are developed according to the operational needs of the business unit.
- Ensures that the transformation targets set by the BP are met to comply with relevant legislation
Labour Planning
- Generates/compiles annual operational area labour plan with consultation of HOD's.
- Participates in the monthly review of Labour Plans with HOD and Section Heads.
- Monitors the approved Labour Plan implementation and initiates remedial action in the event of variance
Organisational Effectiveness & Talent Management
- Supports and advice on operational organizational structure design and effectiveness
- Supports the execution of all org effectiveness initiatives including performance management and leadership development.
- Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimization
