PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To plan, direct and coordinate engineering activities in the trackless section to support the mining activities achieve and sustain production targets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 / Std 10 is essential.
- Mechanical Trade Certificate is essential.
- Engineering Diploma is essential.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a TM3 Foreman is essential.
- Minimum 2 years working Rham machinery is essential.
- Minimum 1-year conveyor belt experience is desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a TM3 Superintendent is desirable.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of Environmental Acts and Policies.
- Knowledge of the Impala Policies, Procedures and Standards.
- Knowledge of the Impala Procurement Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge of Equipment Repair Processes and Procedures.
- Good Communication skills.
- Excellent supervisor and leadership.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Planning and Coordinating skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Enables business to meet objectives and targets by maintaining a fleet of availability of 85% or more daily.
- Plans belt extensions to maintain the tipping-point at a radius of 150m from the face.
- Assists the TM3 foremen with root cause analysis of major failures of trackless machines/conveyor belts.
- Plans the construction of satellite workshops within a 500m radius from the workplace.
- Coordinates the trackless machinery suppliers and contractors to come to site to assist with repairs and inspections.
- Manages the quality of repairs of trackless machinery and conveyor belts.
- Ensures that the section always adheres to the requirements of the MHSA and company COPs, procedures and standards.
