PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To transport materials safely from Main stores to a dedicated off-loading point.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
- Driver's License/EC1/04, EC License with valid PRDP is essential.
- 3 years working experience as a professional heavy-duty driver is essential.
COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrate Basic health and safety principles in and around workplace.
- Knowledge of the Road Ordinance Act.
- Knowledge of Impala Platinum rules and Road rules.
- Good communication skills (Fluent in English)
- Excellent Excel, MS Word & PowerPoint skills (Level 3).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- SAP.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operates and controls rigid/ articulated trucks and or Telehandler
- Conducts pre-use inspections on the vehicles.
- Plans and prepares routes in accordance with company policy
- Ensures operational efficiency of loading and off-loading of material
- Participates in programmes to improve safety and productivity
- Responsible for refueling and cleaning of the vehicle driven
- Be willing to work shifts/overtime as and when required
- Form part of the stock take team, half year and annually or as and when required.
- Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimization.
- Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
- Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
- Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.
- Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
