PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To plan, direct and coordinate engineering activities in the trackless section to support the mining activities achieve and sustain production targets
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 or N3 is essential.
- Mechanical Trade Certificate is essential.
- N3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a TM3 Foreman is essential.
- Computer literacy (MS Office and SAP) is essential.
- Problem Solving skills (root cause analysis & sound judgement) is essential.
- Organizing and Project Management Skills are essential.
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.
COMPETENCIES:
- Computer Literacy (SAP; Microsoft Office)
- Good Communication (verbal) skills in English
- Excellent supervisor and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Planning and Coordinating skills
- Strong problem-solving skills is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act and Environmental Acts and Policies essential.
- Knowledge of Equipment Repair Processes and Procedures is an advantage
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- To enable business to meet objectives and targets by maintaining a fleet availability of 85% or more on a daily basis.
- Legislative and mine standards knowledge
- Financial knowledge: interpreting financial info; budget & renewals: managing finance in operational unit.
- Optimise TMM capacity according to or better than business plan by operational management of TMM, people and processes.
- To ensure that the section adheres to the requirements of the MHSA and company COPs, procedures and standards at all times.
- Knowledge of maintenance standards & quality
- Knowledge of performance management, occupational assessments and mentoring.
- Oral & verbal communication skills (reports, presentation, general communication).
