Job Title: TM3 Drill Rig Operator

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Operate mechanised drill rig underground while adhering to all applicable standards for safety and quality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) is essential
• Drill Rig Competency Certificate
• 3 years experience as TM3 Drill rig Operator

COMPETENCIES:

• Basic English literacy
• Basic Strata Control (Competent A and/ or B MQA)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Obtain daily and weekly work instructions from the immediate Supervisor.
• Efficient Drill rig operation to achieve targets within set quality standards.
• Ensure that all resources requirements are communicated to shift/team Supervisor to complete allocated work tasks.
• Ensure that the correct tools are used to complete tasks.
• Ensure that all work conducted is performed to the required safety standards and specifications.
• Report any deviations (safety concerns) the immediate Shift/team Supervisor.
• Ensure that safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment is conducted.
• Identify opportunities to improve operations.
• Conduct basic maintenance activities on equipment checklist to be completed before the shift.
• Adhere to the re-fuelling procedures.
• Test brakes on the ramp.
• Adhere to parking and end of shift procedure
