About the job Systems Development Specialist
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop and assist with optimisation and automisation of the current of Health, Safety and Risk systems that will enhance the monitoring, measuring and reporting of information at operational level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) certificate is essential.
- 3-year degree/ Diploma or equivalent Mining qualification is essential.
- Diploma in Information Technology would be an advantage.
- 5 to 10 years experience in Safety and Risk environment is essential.
- 5 Years system development and implementation experience is essential.
- 5 Years training and implementation of Safety and Risk systems is essential.
- Must have knowledge of Safety and Risk Management systems.
- Knowledge SAP management systems is essential.
- Must have knowledge of MHSA and OHSA.
COMPETENCIES:
- Facilitation and presentation skills
- Training on safety and risk related systems
- I.T. Skills regarding implementation
- Change Management Facilitation Skills
- Computer programme and development skills is desirable
- Knowledge of Group I.T. requirements is essential
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Responsible to identify opportunities to benchmark and evaluate possibilities to optimize current Implats systems.
- Responsible to standardize and control Implats documents and processes (Document controller).
- Responsible to review current H&S systems and identify opportunities to improve and where required, develop and propose new systems (internal and external service providers).
- To co-ordinate incident reporting and the management thereof.
- Responsible as the administrator for all H&S related systems.
- Develop performance standards information consolidation and reporting thereof.
- Provide training to all operations regarding the Health & Safety system.
- Development of dashboards and automation of toolbox initiatives
