DEPARTMENT / DOMAIN:      BMR PRODUCTION LEACH

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform process control duties as per the section-specific procedures to enable the section/plant to meet production targets with respect to time, quality, reduced frequency of errors and wastage reduction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science essential.
  • Passed all Process Controller modules in the Leach section as per CPDP.
  • Sound knowledge of plant-specific processes and risk assessments is essential.
  • Must have a good understanding of standard operating procedures and the ability to control process plant conditions.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, security and quality procedures required.
  • Sound problem-solving, communication, supervisory and analytical skills required.
  • Computer literacy i.e. MS Office, SAP and SCADA systems.
  • Must be medically fit for BMR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out all tasks associated with the Senior Process Controller position as per the Leach CPDP.
  • Meet section-specific production targets and attend to and report production-related problems.
  • Conduct analysis, monitor purities and yields and report.
  • Schedule SAP, and AMPLA maintenance notifications.
  • Ensure that log sheets (and other required documentation) are updated accurately.
  • Prepare equipment for repairs and maintenance in line with work procedures and completion of breakdown sheets where applicable.
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining safety, environmental, quality and security standards in the area of work.
  • Supervise and oversee on-the-job training of subordinates where required.
  • Conduct routine plant inspections and promote and maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
  • Act in the absence of the Process Supervisor.
