PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To safely, perform barring practices and drill blast, support and service holes for blasting, for service and support installation purposes by means of the Electro-Hydraulic Drill Rig hard rock mine.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/NQF Level 4 is essential.
- Drill Rig Certificate is essential.
- Valid driver's license is essential.
- Electro- Hydraulic Drill Rig Operator with a minimum of 3 years' experience in operating an Electrohydraulic Drill Rig is essential.
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The successful candidate is responsible for:
- To perform proper machine appreciation.
- To safely manoeuvre the machine to and from the working area.
- To effectively communicate with the supervisor.
- To identify poor strata conditions and deal effectively accordingly.
- To identify the misfires and report to the responsible person.
- To perform proper machine setup procedures.
- To perform barring procedures with regards to the electro-hydraulic Drill Rig with the emphasis on barring sequence, hanging wall, side wall and face.
- To drill and install support as per the mine standards and rock engineering recommendations.
- To drill shot holes with the emphasis on a quality blast
