Job Title: Trackless Foreman

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Ensure safe, efficient and productive engineering maintenance through the supervision and inspection of subordinate's daily activities, the overseeing of labor and machinery in the section as well as managing the area to obtain optimum machine and equipment performance and engineering availability while achieving production targets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or NQF4 Equivalent
  • Engineering Foreman Certificate with Law and Standards
  • Trade Certificate / Certificate of Competence level 3 (Electrical/Mechanical)
  • 2-3 Years Post Trade Experience
  • 3 Years Supervisory Experience
  • 5 Years Underground trackless fleet experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the management team in developing an operational plan for the year to support the trackless fleet in achieving objectives. Ensures arrangement of spares in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule and secures spare availability for the execution of scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical repairs and installation work as required.
  • Liaises with the operational management team regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress plans.
  • Oversees execution of all work practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Communicates progress of the section against operational targets and objectives by regular communication to subordinates through various forms and forums.
  • Plans daily, weekly and monthly work requirements and prioritises such with the operational team.
  • Liaises with the other Foremen to ensure that possible problems do not overlap with other sections and are pro-actively identified and discussed.
  • Identifies operational priorities within the section to ensure optimization of the sections performance.
  • Ensures that required job instructions are available to employees.
  • Establishes procedures for abnormal work requirements, which fall outside of standard procedures.
