PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo ensure safety, health of employees (legally responsible as a 2.13.1.) & ensure efficient equipment operation and availability

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • BSc Engineering/ Diploma/ degree or (NQF level 6) is essential.
    • Electrical or Mechanical GCC (Mines and Works) is essential.
    • 2 years recognised junior engineering program training is essential
    • Minimum of 2-4 years operational experience preferably hard rock mining is essential
    • 2-3 Years project management experience would be considered an advantage
    • Operational experience in hard rock, mechanised underground mining is essential
    • Computer Literacy (MS Office, MS Project, SAP ) is essential
    • Must have good presentation skills and data analysis skills
    • Must have preventative maintenance skills
    • Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such certificate

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring adherence to schedules
    • Implement best practices for engineering
    • Ensuring safety and health of employees
    • Ensuring efficient plant/equipment availability
    • Ensuring zero harm to employees and the environment by meeting legal and SHEQ regulations and compliances.
    • Ensuring equipment maintenance/efficient management i.e. equipment availability to ensure that production targets are met
    • Ensuring effective project delivery to enable future growth and reach production targets
    • Implementing effective financial management processes
    • Ensuring effective people management methologies, inclusive of people development (Subordinates vary between 200-400)
    • Applying engineering expertise to ensure that effective design checks/specifications are conducted on equipments (quality and safety key criteria)
