DEPARTMENT: SERVICES (PSC STORES)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To identify potential material shortage. To prevent out of stock by frequently engaging with suppliers to deliver material on time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12/STD 10/NQF Level 4 is essential
  • 3 years working experience within the Materials department is essential
  • 1 year exposure to query resolution process, 1 year exposure to expediting and inventory management would be an advantage
  • Experience with mining and processing equipment is essential
  • Must have knowledge of SAP System, Procurement Process and Principles of Logistics
  • Must have basic knowledge of Safety Regulations
  • A valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Obtains and understands issue inability report
  • Identify and prioritises critical items to be delivered by Suppliers
  • Engages with suppliers to ensure timeous delivery
  • Identifies and escalates critical items if not delivered
  • Engages with Vendor Department, Contracts, Transactional Buying and Inventory Management
  • Compiles effective follow up plan
  • Initiates buy-out process for critical out of stock
  • Ad-hoc administration duties
  • Stock count as and when required
