Plant Foreman Toll

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  To supervise the safe, effective, and efficient operation of a designated section in the metallurgical plant

.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 / Std. 10 (NQF Level 4) certificate is essential

• Completed all modules and required process unit standards as per career path

• At least 5 years working experience as Plant Shift Leader in a Processing Plant will be essential

• Must have drivers license and own transport

• Completed the Impala Supervisory Programme (ISP) is essential

• Computer Literacy (MS Office) is essential

• Previous relieving/acting experience as a Foreman would be advantageous

• Completion of PTO & disciplinary handling training would be advantageous

• Completion of IMDP would be advantageous

• Completion of the Foreman Development Programme would be advantageous

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Check staffing figures at the start of shift and ensure that all plant activities are functionally covered.

• Manage production process activities, trends, and brief subordinates accordingly at the start of each shift.

• Take corrective actions and instruct staff accordingly in significant deviations in the plant processing which may influence safety or production.

• Ensure work schedules are adhered to.

• Interpret information from plant readings and determine required adjustments to maximise production.

• Hand over shift reporting on all required information to the next Plant Foreman.

• Meet daily operational targets.

• Performs such administrative functions as may be required.

• Maintain a reliable reporting and communication system.
