PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To be responsible for all mechanical work in the identified area of responsibility and to ensure proper maintenance and reliability of machines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) / N3 trade related subjects is essential (External)
- Grade 12 /STD 10 (NQF 4) / N3 trade related subjects Distinct Advantage (Internal)
- Recognized relevant Trade qualification (Section 13 or Section 26D) with proof of training) is essential.
- OR
- Proof of recognized completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time)
- NTC 2 (relevant Trade Theory and specialized courses) is essential.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working on underground conveyor belt, de-watering pumping systems and rock breaker machines is essential
- Working experience on Conveyor systems, air reticulation, water reticulation infrastructure.
- A valid driver's license and own transport is essential.
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate is essential
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The successful candidate is responsible for:
- General maintenance and proper running of conveyor belt systems, pumping systems.
- Overhauling of pumps and parts replacement.
- Ensure minimum spares of equipment s are available.
- Performs proper Inspection and ensure good housekeeping in his area of responsibility.
- Identify new opportunities to improve overall equipment availability of the section.
- Enforce compliance with the MHS Act and regulations on this section.
- Ensure that subordinates adhere to all company standards, safe work procedures and compliance with safety
