DEPARTMENT: SERVICES (ACCOUNTS PAYABLE)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To process invoices and maintain cockpit effectively, accurately and timeously
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 With Accounting and or Mathematics is essential
- At least 12 months Accounts payable experience would be an advantage
- Must have creditors experience
- General knowledge of finance is essential
- Awareness of customer service is essential
- Valid Medical certificate or medically fit to obtain such a certificate
COMPETENCIES:
- Good Administration skills
- Be able to attend to Query resolutions
- Computer literate and VAT knowledge are essential
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Maintaining and updating filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or electronically in accordance departmental systems and procedures.
- Compiling, sorting and verifying accuracy of data to be entered.
- Reviewing files, records, and other documents in order to obtain information and respond to requests.
- Communicating with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints.
- Checking deadlines on incoming requests to ensure compliance.
- Assisting in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient records management system.
- Head Clerk Accounts Payable Specific duties: To ensure that cockpit and statements are maintained and loaded. To ensure that validation of Invoices is done on a daily basis. Daily Ad hoc scanning of Invoices. Maintain a good relationship between creditors department and different stakeholders. To safely administer and maintain good housekeeping in a work environment.
