MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Trade tested Class 2 Instruments Mechanic
- 5 O level passes including Mathematics, English Language and Science
- Any other Engineering qualification is an added advantage
- 2 Years working experience in a Processing plant, or a related industry
- Process control experience in a similar environment is essential
- Knowledge of the following types of instruments, among others, pressure, level, and temperature, analytical, loadcell systems, belt scales
- Conversant with standard instrumentation, PLCs, and SCADA systems
- Ability to read and interpret P & IDs, schematic wiring drawings, functional specifications and control philosophies
- Knowledge of the Business Management Systems (BMS), ISO 9001, ISO14001, and ISO 55 000
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:
- A self-starter with excellent interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in carrying out repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance work on all C & I equipment and related control systems to comply with product technical specifications
- Execute C & I projects in line with accepted project management principles to enhance, improve and optimise operations
- Conduct SCADA and PLC changes including related software and hardware maintenance
- Control critical spares in the sections
- Assist with installation and commissioning of projects, be able to run small projects
- Assist Instrument Technicians, Foreman, Operations Engineers and Managers with technical support & advanced technical skills
- Ensure that instrumentation and safety specifications and standards are adhered to
- Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters
- Carry out equipment calibration and service
- Supporting and implementing the Business Management System (BMS)
