PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide, plan and direct the planning activities of the organisation to maximise compliance to the strategic aim and target of the company regarding production.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science is essential
- Degree/ Diploma or Formal Qualification NQF6/7 in a mining related field, Geology, Mining Engineering Mineral Resource Management or Rock Engineering is essential
- Chamber of Mines Advance Certificate (Survey, Rock Engineering), Mine Overseer certificate, MDP would be an advantage
- At least 5 years experience in an underground supervisory position or related Technical Services is essential
- Datamine system experience is essential
- Knowledge of underground stope and development planning is essential
- Must be conversant with mining layouts
- Computer Literacy (MS Office package, Datamine system is essential)
- A valid EB (Code 08) Drivers Licence and own transport is considered a distinct advantage
- Valid medical Certificate or be medically fit to obtain such certificate is essential
COMPETENCIES:
- Must be self-driven and highly motivated with strong leadership skills
- Must maintain a high standard of work
- Must have good organising and delegation skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Building achievable/ logical graphic designs, in order to provide direction and insight into medium- and long-term layouts
- Ensuring the effective maintenance of layouts and new designs.
- Custodian, organising / co-coordinating of pre-planning meetings
- Responsible for the Short-term Planning & Booking Tool on the shaft:
- Short-term Planning Calendar
- Plan Compliance and associated reporting
- Controlling the quality of Short-term planning processes
- Requesting monthly mining instructions and Ad-hocs
- Daily Booking Compliance
- A3 Planning Sheet Compliance
- User training & assistance
- Aligning the input of all key stakeholders towards the achievement of the plan
- Providing effective problem solving to the production department to assist with the achievement of the plan
- Updating monthly Panel Statuss, Sign-offs, Reporting and Face Length graphs
- Compilation of monthly Management Reports
- Attending G-Sheet and other meetings, with related inputs
- Printing of Plans.
- Analysing and reporting of variances, from plans to actual: Short, medium- and long-term plan comparisons and reporting variances.
