PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To confirm the delivery dates for material (spare parts, special equipment and consumables) for planned maintenance work and expedite the delivery if required, in order to trigger the scheduling of the work. The expediters secondary function is to secure the material for execution of the work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/STD 10/NQF Level 4 is essential
- 3 years working experience within the Materials department is essential
- 1 year exposure to query resolution process, 1 year exposure to expediting and inventory management would be an advantage
- Must have knowledge of SAP ERP System, Procurement Process and Principles of Logistics
- Must have basic knowledge of Safety Regulations
- Knowledge of Planned Maintenance is essential
- A valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Regularly follow up on progress with the delivery of direct purchased material (spare parts, consumables, special equipment) against the promised dates for planned maintenance work.
- Regularly follow up on the replenishment of stocked items (spare parts, consumables and special equipment) from the satellite maintenance store.
- Identify and expedite items that are late or source alternatives where necessary.
- Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the materials supply function through the selected KPIs and propose improvement actions.
- To obtain and understand issue inability report.
- Engage with suppliers to ensure timeous delivery
- Be able to identify and escalate critical items
- Compile effective follow up plan
