PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To monitor and control equipment and processes from an A-Class Control Room in a Processing environment in terms of compliance with operational procedures and quality assurance requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12/STD10/NQF Level 4 with Maths and Physical Science or N3(Maths &
  • Engineering Science) is essential
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in processing plant environment is essential
  • Previous relieving or acting experience in a Control Room in the Concentrator
  • environment would be considered an advantage
  • Computer literate (MS Office Package) is essential
  • Knowledge of safe work procedures is essential
  • Valid Medical Certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

  • Must have computer skills
  • Must have communication skills
  • Must have Supervisory, problem solving and analytical skills

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Monitor and control the plant, equipment, and processes to ensure that other team members are aware of critical information.
  • Apply preventive and/or remedial action in accordance with operating procedures and plant conditions.
  • Respond to non-conformances and emergencies in the processing
    Contribute to team goals, achievements, and efficiencies by adhering to agreed working methods.
  • Conduct shift handover and hand over activities to ensure safe and continuous operation in a processing environment.
  • Monitor the operational parameters in a mineral processing environment and to take corrective action.
  • Monitor operational data and proactively take action to prevent process deviations. 
  • Interpret, record and report minerals processing data obtained from visual inspections and complete reports and log sheets.
  • Work according to the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations/ standards.
  • Work and interpret technologically advanced instrumentations and computer systems.
  • Adjust equipment and machinery while taking cognisance of the impact of other processes
