DEPARTMENT / DOMAIN: PMR PRODUCTION | PYSEP – GOLD PURIFICATION

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform Senior Process Control duties as per the section specific procedures to enable the section / plant to meet production targets with respect to time, quality, reduced frequency of errors and wastage reduction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (NQF Level 4)
  • Completed all Gold (Conditioning, IX and HSA) modules as per CPDP.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, security and quality procedures.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment in the workplace.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions, good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • Computer literacy, i.e., MS Office and SAP.
  • Sound knowledge of standard operating procedures to control a process from a panel or computer interface.
  • Must be medically fit for the Platinum Metal Refinery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all tasks associated with the Senior Process Controller role in accordance with the EPMR Primary Separation CPDP.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of safety, environmental management, housekeeping, quality, and security within the work area.
  • Prepare equipment for repairs and maintenance in line with established procedures, ensuring completion of breakdown documentation in compliance with safety and security requirements.
  • Achieve section-specific production targets (daily, weekly, and monthly) and identify, attend to, and report production-related issues.
  • Conduct process analysis, monitor product purities and yields, and report findings where required.
  • Manage and update MAPS schedules and capture relevant SAP notifications accurately and timeously.
  • Ensure that log sheets and all required documentation are completed accurately within prescribed timeframes.
  • Facilitate modular training in line with operational requirements within agreed timelines.
  • Provide on-the-job training in areas of competence, in accordance with CPDP guidelines.
  • Supervise subordinates where required and assume full operational responsibility when acting in the absence of the Supervisor.
