PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To offload, stack and load materials.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
  • 1-year experience in a mining environment is essential

COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in a workplace.
  • Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to materials handling and safe stacking practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the risks involved in the manufacture, use, handling and storage of dangerous and hazardous substances.
  • Move, pack and maintain stock in a warehouse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Packs materials into the correct bin locations.
  • Load goods and materials in bins identified and trucks / LDV's.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards in the warehouse / Yard or dedicated area.
  • Does half year and annual stocktaking or ad-hoc as requested.
  • Offloads material from supplier on the trucks per goods on instruction of a supervisor.
  • Lifts materials with hoist.
  • Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimization.
  • Builds, supports and maintains healthy diverse internal and external relations and implements remedial actions where required.
  • Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
  • Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
  • Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.
