PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To support the Project Management in ensuring adherence to project plan by coordinating and monitoring project activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12/NQF4 equivalent is essential
  • Engineering Diploma is essential
  • Project Management Certificate is essential
  • 2 years' experience in Mining Projects is essential

COMPETENCIES:

  • MS Office (Outlook, Word. Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Projects)
  • SAP
  • Project Management Skills

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Facilitates team employee selection.
  • Manages monthly budget expenditure.
  • Oversees planned maintenance priorities.
  • Allocates resources within section.
  • Sets daily and weekly technical and operational targets.
  • Reviews sections leave rosters.
  • Applies legal standards.
  • Determines work priorities.
  • Calls out specialist expertise when problems occur.
  • Changes plans and schedules on the shift to minimise the effect of unexpected problems.
  • Assists the Project Manager in developing an operational project plan for the year to support the achievement of throughput objectives for the section.
  • Assists the Project Manager in developing a project plan, up to 1-2 years ahead, the budget requirements according to the operational targets for the section.
  • Assists the Engineering Manager in developing a plan for the spare requirements according to the planned maintenance schedule for the section.
  • Liaises with the Engineering Manager regarding daily, weekly and monthly project progress to plan, budget and employee resources for the section.
  • Reviews project plan for the section and re-assigns targets and objectives to the Engineering Foreman in the section.
