POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will be part of the dynamic team based at Engineering Services, reporting to the Engineering Manager - Mining.

JOB TITLE – Instrumentation and Control Foreman

JOB GRADING – C6

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Apprenticeship trained Class 1 Artisan- Instrumentation Technician
• National Diploma or City and Guilds T5
• At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a mining or heavy engineering environment
• Knowledge of planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance systems

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals related to instruments and equipment
• Communicates effectively at all levels

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Planning, leading, organizing and controlling of Instrumentation and Control operations.
• Oversight inspection of instrumentation projects at Ngezi Mines
• Ensure critical spares are available at stores.
• Disseminate best practice and develop procedures, codes of practice and standards for all instrumentation aspects
• Support existing instrumentation, networks, and hardware.
• Assist with commissioning onsite projects and ensure adherence to the Zimplats standards and procedures.
• Supervision of the instrumentation team in the safe design, installation, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment and enforcing standards as per statutory requirements and procedures
• Implementation of the Zimplats integrated Business Management System (BMS) requirements
