PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To co-ordinate and facilitate Talent and Employment Equity functions within business units as well as supporting the achievement of HR business objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
  • Human Resources or related field Diploma/Degree or NQF equivalent is essential.
  • Human Resources or related field post graduate qualification is desirable.
  • At least 3 years HR experience in a mining environment is essential.
  • At least 3 years Talent Management experience in a mining environment is desirable.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Understanding of the principles of Talent Management.
  • Understanding of the relevant company HR policies and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation
  • Knowledge of the Impala PMS
  • SAP/ HR related system knowledge
  • Advanced MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong administrative skills
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
  • The flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A high level of confidentiality
  • Presentation skills

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Co-ordinates and maintains the talent pool and succession planning processes for the business units to ensure an up-to-date talent database system.
  • Co-ordinates all the performance management functions and embeds a performance culture within business units.
  • Provides effective service and support to line management to ensure proper implementation of the Talent Management Framework.
  • Implements, maintains and co-ordinates all mentorship activities within business units as well as ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Implements and supports the IDP process in order to monitor development of employees.
  • Facilitates and coordinates the EE function within the business units.
  • Ensures timeous and accurate compilation of monthly Talent & EE reports.
  • Performs and maintains general office administration in order to ensure efficient running of the department.
  • Conducts inter-departmental audits in order to continuously improve service provided to business units.
  • Ensures the execution of ad-hoc functions.
  • Implements initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within
  • scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.
  • Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimisation.
  • Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
  • Supports HR related projects
