DEPARTMENT / DOMAIN: BMR – UTILITIES SITE (DAYSHIFT)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To perform process control duties as per the section-specific procedures to enable the section/plant to meet production targets with respect to time, quality, reduced frequency of errors and wastage reduction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Completion of all BL modules and one Process Controller module and Clerk module essential.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy, i.e. MS Office, SAP, will be an added advantage.
• Must be medically fit for BMR.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out all tasks associated with the Process Controller position – as per the Utilities Site CPDP.
• Sample and record readings of SO2, Sulphuric acid and flow, Caustic solution and the pond levels.
• Safely receive and offload chemicals including nitric acid, sulphuric acid, sulphur dioxide, caustic soda and diesel in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
• Perform clerical functions i.e. training course bookings, consumables ordering, capturing overtime, leave, travelling and medical bookings. Compile and distribute daily production figures and month end report.
• Process Controller will be required to do standby duties.
• Perform on-the-job training on the modules found competent in as per CPDP guidelines.
• Responsible for promoting and maintaining safety, environmental, quality and security standards in the area of work.
• Promote and maintain good housekeeping in the area of responsibility.
