PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide high-quality management accounting support to Services Management and staff through the timely delivery of relevant and accurate financial information, enabling sound decision-making, improved efficiency and optimized operational performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential
- Cost & Management Accounting Degree is essential
- Honours Degree and CIMA/SAICA/SAIPA accreditations is desirable
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience as a Junior Accountant in either Financial or Management Accounting is essential
- Supervisory experience is essential
- Mining Accounting experience is desirable
- Computer literacy is essential
- Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
COMPETENCIES:
- Understanding and acceptance of Impala's code of conduct, policies and procedures
- Budgeting, Forecasting, Variance Analysis, Reporting
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- SAP S4/Hanna
- Assertiveness
- Analytical skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Provides proactive support and service to line and functional management by delivering timely relevant information to ensuring the availability of logistics resources required to achieve operational objectives.
- Ensures compliance with and maintenance of the budgeting and forecasting processes, enabling the provision of accurate, reliable and timely financial information.
- Adheres to the company's financial/accounting policies and procedures while ensuring the implementation and maintenance of sufficient financial controls.
- Ensures compliance and maintenance of the internal financial control systems related to the operational costs management of Services Departments.
- Conducts ad hoc investigations, evaluations and value-adding projects as required by management and other stakeholders to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Takes ownership of personal career development by staying informed of changes and developments within the financial environment and continuously enhancing skills and competencies to meet evolving business and job requirements.
- Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
