3. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Safeguards, designs, and maintains OT and ICS environments by ensuring cybersecurity, system reliability, and operational efficiency, while administering process control domains and supporting IT/OT infrastructure and advanced control systems across the plant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• NQF Level 6 in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering (Light Current), or Measurement Control & Instrumentation is essential.
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years in OT cybersecurity, process control, or IT infrastructure roles is essential.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+ or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Essential knowledge of industrial environment and advanced control systems.
• Strong understanding of process control systems design, instrumentation, and IT hardware/software and network architecture.
• Solid knowledge of SCADA architecture and its components, including PLCs and HMIs.
• Sound understanding of ICS/OT design principles, with emphasis on human safety, system availability and secure operational environments.
• Advanced computer, networking, and troubleshooting skills.
• Analytical thinking, planning and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work under pressure with high attention to detail.
• Technical diagram interpretation and project management.
• Supervisory and coaching capabilities.
• Medically fit for the Base Metal Refinery (BMR) or Platinum Metal Refinery (PMR).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Implement OT security controls, monitor networks, perform vulnerability assessments, manage access permissions, and ensure compliance with security standards.
• OT/ICS System Support: Support the design, commissioning, and maintenance of OT and process control systems; administer SCADA/PLC networks and related platforms; ensure system integrity and uptime.
• IT/OT Infrastructure Security: Manage domain security, firewalls, antivirus updates, network architecture, audits, and OT patch/vulnerability management.
• Project Support: Assist with OT project planning, execution, renewals, and change management processes.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain asset inventories, produce operational and cybersecurity reports, and ensure accurate logs and governance documentation.
• Continuous Improvement: Recommend new technologies, enhance OT/ICS performance, and develop standard procedures and best‑practice guidelines.
• People Supervision: Oversee contractor activities, ensure safe and compliant work practices, and provide guidance on OT and cybersecurity systems.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong stakeholder relationships, monitor service delivery, and ensure SLA adherence.
