PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To safely install, fault find, repair, programme PLCs, and maintain instrumentation equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Physical Science) or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
• Instrumentation Trade Certificate is essential.
• 1 – 2 years relevant Instrumentation experience is essential
• Computer Literacy (MS Office) is essential.
• Valid medical certificate is essential or must be fit in order to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

• Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in the workplace
• Demonstrate an understanding of the uses and safety aspect associated with flammable energy sources
• Understand basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles
• Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of energy efficiency
• Understand basic electronic theory and components
• Demonstrate an understanding of the Principles of Process Control Loops

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Provides technical suggestions in solving processing problems

• Instrumentation installations

• Conducts daily checks on Instrumentation readings and maintenance requirements

• Supports and participates in the change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimisation

• Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
