PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To co-ordinate, facilitate and liaise on a tactical level regarding engineering support services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/NQF level 4 qualification is essential
- A recognized Engineering Trade qualification – Mechanical (Section 13/26D) is essential
- Mechanical Engineering Diploma or NQF 6 equivalent is essential
- A Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Engineering Foreman in Processing (Internal) is essential
- A Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Engineering Superintendent in Smelting (External) is essential
- Foreman/Supervisory development programme certification is desirable
- Computer literacy (MS Office package) is essential
COMPETENCIES:
- Legislative and mine standards knowledge
- Knowledge of maintenance standards and quality
- Conflict and dispute resolution skills
- Knowledge of SAP procedures
- Organisational Skills
- Project Management Skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieves and maintains plant and equipment efficiency and running time.
- Implements contingency plans to reduce production losses.
- Implements effective operational and tactical management principles and procedures.
- Effectively monitors costs through budgeting and project management methodologies.
- Ensures compliance and reviews legislative and engineering standards.
- Ensures adherence to Impala's standards and procedures.
- Oversee Foremen performance, maintenance and infrastructure equipment.
- Managing of Shut down tasks and implementation of Maintenance tactics.
- Implements initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.
- Builds, supports and maintains healthy diverse internal and external relations and implements remedial actions where required.
- Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
- Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
