PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To conduct maintenance and emergency repairs safely on auto-electrical equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Science) or NQF 4 equivalent is essential.
- Recognized relevant Trade Qualification or NTC 2 specialized course is essential.
- Medium Voltage Certificate is essential.
- 3 years' TMM Auto Electrician experience in a mining environment is essential
COMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in the workplace.
- Understand basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the uses and safety aspect associated with flammable energy sources.
- Understand and be able to read TMM Auto Electrical Schematics.
- Be able to do quality maintenance on TMM.
- Be able to attend to TMM electrical breakdowns.
- Perform basic firefighting.
- Perform basic first aid.
- Respond to hazardous and emergency conditions.
- Select, inspect, use, and maintain measurement, test and calibration equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifies and recommends initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity, and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.
- Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimization.
- Advises management on business improvements initiatives identified.
- Builds, supports, and maintains healthy diverse internal and external relations and implements remedial actions where required.
- Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
- Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
- Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
- Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.
- Perform Quality Maintenance on TMM
- Plan and organize all required spares for Electrical Maintenance
