A specialist Paediatric practice in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape is seeking to recruit an experienced Medical Receptionist to support the daily administrative and operational functions of the practice. The successful candidate will be organised, compassionate, and professional, with the ability to provide exceptional patient service while ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

Roles and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Manage front desk and reception functions
  • Coordinate and manage the doctor's diary and appointment schedules
  • Answer incoming calls and attend to patient enquiries
  • Create and maintain patient files and records
  • Provide administrative support to the doctor
  • Order and manage practice supplies and consumables
  • Maintain efficient office systems and workflows
  • Ensure a high standard of patient service and experience
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient, doctor, and practice information
  • Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and healthcare stakeholders as required
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy, organised, and professional at all times
  • Assist with general practice administration and day-to-day operations

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a medical practice
  • Experience within a paediatric or specialist practice will be advantageous
  • Medical software knowledge is essential
  • Strong computer literacy and administrative skills
  • Valid driver's licence advantageous
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 08h00 to 17h00
