A specialist Physician practice in Middelburg, Mpumalanga is seeking to recruit a full-time Clinical Associate. The successful candidate will work closely with the specialist, providing clinical support throughout the patient journey while contributing to high-quality, patient-centred care. This is a hands-on role suited to a motivated individual who enjoys working in a busy specialist practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments, including history taking and clinical examinations
  • Prepare patients for specialist consultations and optimise patients for treatment
  • Consult with patients within scope of practice
  • Coordinate the patient journey from initial consultation through to treatment and follow-up
  • Assist with clinical administration, documentation, and medical record keeping
  • Interpret clinical investigations and assist with treatment planning
  • Assist with ward rounds and wound care clinics
  • Prescribe medication within scope of practice and practice protocols
  • Provide patient education, counselling, and follow-up care
  • Liaise with referring doctors and provide referral feedback where appropriate
  • Respond to after-hours patient queries and escalate concerns to the specialist when required
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes and patient records
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP)
  • Current HPCSA registration as a Clinical Associate
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification clinical experience
  • Previous experience in a specialist or private practice advantageous
  • Computer literacy and strong administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's licence advantageous
