Medical Receptionist & Coordinator Centurion, Gauteng

Our client, a Medical Centre based in Centurion, is seeking to recruit an experienced medical receptionist & coordinator to join their team.

This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people and has a talent for staying organized in a fast-paced medical environment. Youll be the first point of contact for the patients, whether in person or over the phone, and will also play a key role in coordinating appointments, referrals, and patient care processes behind the scenes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Warmly welcome patients and visitors to the practice
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to general enquiries professionally
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
  • Verify medical aid/insurance details and handle pre-authorizations
  • Collect co-payments and process billing at reception
  • Keep the reception area clean, calm, and organized
  • Coordinate specialist referrals, lab tests, and diagnostic bookings
  • Follow up on test results and assist with continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic patient records
  • Assist with managing doctor schedules and appointment flow
  • Liaise with medical professionals and service providers as needed
  • Support the admin team with invoicing, coding, and documentation


Qualification and Requirements:

  • Matric
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar medical receptionist position will be advantageous.
  • Experience and knowledge of medical terminology will be advantageous
  • Experience with basic medical billing (in-rooms) is essential
  • Computer literate
  • Experience with medical software (GoodX) will be advantageous
  • Afrikaans and English

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 08h00 17h00
  • Alternating Saturday mornings
  • Over time as needed for emergency situations
